Miscarriage means the loss of a pregnancy before twenty weeks. But to the parent who has gone through a miscarriage, it means one of a million things. Some men and women don't feel bonded to the child they lose and only grieve for a short time. Others are relieved to have the pregnancy end. Most couples, however, feel intense grief (manifested in dozens of ways) over the loss of a dream, of a promise, of their child. Each miscarriage experience is as unique as the lost child. As you go through the grieving process, make it yours by choosing what your loss means to you personally, to your marriage, to your faith, and to your future.
